Worship is the act of attributing ultimate worth to God. In Psalm 29:2, we are instructed, “Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness”. The mission of the music ministry at Grace is to ensure that our corporate worship service focuses the mind, will and heart of each believer on God alone, so that each and every worship service can be the life-transforming experience that God intends. We believe that God gives each of us abilities and talents, not for our own edification, but to magnify His name, encourage the Body of Christ and advance His Kingdom on earth. Music ministry takes many volunteers to sustain two worship services, two choir cantatas, a children’s choir and a Christmas program.  This year we have had 63 volunteers either sing, play an instrument, work in the tech booth, or work with children’s choir. We are very thankful for so many willing to use their time and talents to assist in the worship of our Lord through music.

  • Grace choir

Our choir practices and performs regularly from September through May in the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Practices are held on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and Sunday morning warm-up is at 9:10 a.m. In addition to singing on Sunday mornings, the choir also performs at a number of special services during the Christmas and Easter seasons.

  • Grace Worship ensemble

Our Worship Ensemble are the instrumentalists for our 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship. If you play an instrument or have played one in the past, please see Ward about playing in our Sunday morning Worship Ensemble. We rehearse on Sunday mornings from 8:15 a.m. until 9:20 a.m. The music for each week is distributed the Wednesday before the service.

  • Grace Worship Tech Team

Our Worship Tech team pulls everything together to make sure the choir and ensemble sound great, the words and images are projected for all to read and sing and they also record our services so that people who missed the service (or want to re-listen to a sermon) can have access to our sermon archives.  Interested in serving on our Worship Tech Team?  Talk to Ward Satterfield.

Grace Outlaid is our children's music ministry.  Our children's choirs are directed by Heidi Long and Mary McClawhorn.  The children rehearse on Wednesdays at 5:45pm and perform a winter and spring show.  If your child would be interested in participating in this wonderful choir and ministry, please speak with either Mary McClawhorn or Ward Satterfield.
